Influence
From the Polandball Go Wiki
Influence is the currency that grows things. It pays for a ball's levels, from 1 to 30, and since update 5.0 it also pays for every step of a player's Land: growing settlements, founding cities and moving them. It shows in the top bar of the map next to Clay and Gold.
1 Where it comes from#
- Generation. Influence comes in steadily over time, and this is what the alliance and Capital boosts below act on.
- Daily quests. Two of the daily quests pay 2,500 Influence each: collecting 1,000 Clay, and winning a PvP battle.
- Solo battle paths. The stages of the solo PvP paths pay Influence for their stars. The Monument, a stage of The Fallen Monument, pays 15,000 at three stars. See The solo campaign.
- Raids. Raid clears pay Influence along with Clay and Prestige Fragments. See Raids and Mymics.
- The Glory Shop. Influence Bundles of 5,000, 10,000 and 50,000 sell for 50, 150 and 300 Glory. The shop restocks them weekly. See Glory and the Glory Shop.
- Sieges. Sacking a settlement pays a 500 Influence bonus on top of the land. See Lands, Capitals and sieges.
2 Boosts#
Three things raise how fast Influence generates:
- Alliance level. An alliance unlocks level bonuses as it levels up. One is Influence Boost, shown as 1.2 times generation at level 3. See Alliances.
- Alliance upgrades. The alliance's Upgrades Shop sells its own Influence Boost, shown as 1.30 times at upgrade level 6.
- Your Capital. Each Capital tier from Village up raises your Influence by another 5%: 5% at Village, 10% at Town, 15% at City, 20% at Metropolis and 25% at Imperial City.
The game shows each boost on its own. How they combine with each other, whether they add or multiply, isn't published.
3 The Influence cap#
Alliance levels also unlock an Influence Cap Increase. At level 3 the game shows it as a 5,000 Influence cap. What exactly the cap limits isn't spelled out on the screen, and it isn't a limit on what you can hold, since players hold far more than 5,000.
4 Leveling balls#
A ball's level runs from 1 to 30 and is raised with the Level Up button on its screen. Each level adds CP: 50 a level up to 20, then 150, 200, 250 and 300 for levels 21 to 24. What levels 25 to 30 add isn't known yet, and neither is the Influence cost of each level. See Levels, stars and CP.
Level also adds 2% Speed a level in duels. See Speed and turn order.
Influence spent on a level can be lost. When two balls are traded, both end at the lower of their two levels, and the Influence spent on the higher one is gone. Level a ball you mean to keep, not one you plan to trade. See Trades and friends.
5 Growing a Land#
Since 5.0, Influence also builds your territory. Each settlement tier needs both land in its Reach and an Influence payment:
- Village: 10 squares, 500 Influence.
- Town: 30 squares, 2,000.
- City: 75 squares, 6,000.
- Metropolis: 150 squares, 15,000.
- Imperial City: 300 squares, 40,000.
A Hamlet is free. Taking a Capital all the way from Hamlet to Imperial City costs 63,500 Influence.
Cities cost Influence too, once the Capital is a Town. A Town allows one city at 1,000 Influence, a City two at 3,000 each, a Metropolis three at 8,000 each and an Imperial City five at 15,000 each. Each step also needs more land: 60, 150, 300 and 600 squares.
Moving a seat, or making a city the Capital, is allowed once every 7 days and costs a quarter of that seat's tier cost. Moving a Metropolis costs 3,750, an Imperial City 10,000.
6 Spending it well#
Influence goes two ways, and both compete for it:
- Balls first if you mainly play PvP and wars. Levels add CP and Speed, and CP decides most duels. Levels 21 to 24 add the most CP of any known ball level, 150 to 300 each. Keep it to balls you won't trade, since a trade throws the extra levels away.
- Land first if your alliance is pushing for territory. A higher Capital pays you back with up to 25% more Influence, and the earlier it's built, the longer the bonus runs.
7 On polbielytics#
The site doesn't track any player's Influence. The 5.0 update article has the full settlement tables, and each ball's page shows how its CP grows with level.
