Trades and friends
From the Polandball Go Wiki
Trading lets two friends swap balls, but it comes with real costs: both balls are cut down to the weaker one's level and prestige, both get a new primary typing, and both players pay in Scrap Sand.
1 Who you can trade with#
Trades happen between friends. Friendship has tiers, and trading unlocks at the tier called Trade Pact. Higher friendship tiers make trades cheaper: friends at Coalition or above pay 25% less.
2 The eleven rules#
The game lists eleven trade rules on its trade screen. In plain terms:
- Same rarity only. An Epic trades for an Epic, a Rare for a Rare. See Balls and rarity.
- Both balls end at the lower level. If you trade a level 20 ball for a level 12, both arrive at level 12. The Influence spent leveling the higher ball is lost.
- Both end at the lower prestige, in the same way.
- Both get a new primary typing. Each ball's primary typing is drawn again at random from its own types, so only dual-typed balls can change. A dual-typed ball you valued for attacking with one type may arrive attacking with the other. See Primary typing.
- Items never move with the ball. Equipment has to be taken off first, which costs Aether Dust.
- Both players pay the full Scrap Sand cost. The cost rises steeply with rarity. The 25% friendship discount applies from Coalition up.
- Three trades a day, counted across all your friends. Epic and Legendary trades also need the one Trade Permit you get each week, and unused permits don't carry over.
- Slots are limited. You have 3 slots for balls you're offering and 2 for proposals you've made. A ball sitting in a slot is locked out of dungeons, battles, feeding and scrapping until it leaves the slot.
- Trading unlocks at Trade Pact, and higher friendship tiers lower the cost.
- Some balls can't be traded: any Mythical, any ball you received in a trade, any ball already listed, proposed or offered, any ball with an item equipped, any ball in a dungeon, and any ball on PvP defense. Balls deployed on territory and favorited balls can be traded.
- No Dex XP from trades. A traded-in ball adds its Dex entry if you didn't have it, but it grants no Dex XP.
3 What a trade really costs#
Put the rules together and a trade is rarely an even swap of value.
Take two friends trading Legendaries. Each needs the week's Trade Permit and one of their three daily trades. Each pays the full Legendary Scrap Sand price, less 25% if they're at Coalition. If one ball was level 24 at prestige 3 and the other level 15 at prestige 1, both come out at level 15, prestige 1. The player who gave the stronger ball has thrown away the Influence and the prestige work on it. Both balls then get a fresh primary typing, which may or may not be the one either player wanted. And because a received ball can never be traded again, neither can undo the deal by trading back.
The cheapest trades are between balls of similar level and prestige, where the cut costs neither side much.
4 Trades and the war lineup#
Alliance wars use the roster you held at the roster lock, Friday 00:00 UTC. A trade made before then goes into the war with its new level, prestige and primary typing. A trade made after the lock changes nothing until the following week.
5 Friends#
Beyond trading, friends exchange gifts. There is a daily limit on how many gifts you can open; the screen has shown five. Friend Pass Fragments combine into a Remote Friend Pass.
6 On polbielytics#
The Trades page reads the game's public trade feed. It shows recent trades, the most-traded balls, the Scrap Sand each side paid, and how often trades land each primary typing.
