World Rift fine print

From the Polandball Go Wiki

World Rifts covers the tiers, entry, phases and floors. These are the details behind them.

1 What counts as a clear#

  • A full clear means the Riftbreaker on the last floor was beaten. Only Riftbreakers are World Rift bosses.
  • A run that ends on a Herald or an ordinary Mymic is lost on that floor, however far it got.
  • A run ends as a full clear, a failure (every team on a floor failed, or time ran out) or abandoned.
  • On each floor, each duo or squad is marked cleared, failed or unfinished.

2 Leaving early#

You can leave a World Rift before the end. Your entry isn't spent, and you get nothing: rewards come only when you open the chest at the end of the run.

3 Where escaped Mymics go#

When a duo or squad runs out of Polbies or time, the Mymics it didn't finish move on with the HP they had left, to a team that holds the same seats further on. The game records each escape: which team it left, the floor and team it went to, and its HP.

  • Escaped Mymics can turn up more than one floor later. Mymics from the first floor of World Rift ★ have been finished off on floor 3, and some on floor 5.
  • Once the coalition starts, an escape lands on everyone.
  • The game's raid history doesn't mark them as escaped. They simply appear on the later floor.

So a team that falls short makes later floors harder for itself, or for the whole party.

4 Every team meets the same encounter#

A floor draws one encounter, and in the runs seen so far every duo or squad on that floor has fought its own copy of the same one. In one World Rift ★ run, all four duos faced Heavenly Sultan and Afgar on floor 2, and both squads faced Captain Natanielia and Coastal Guards on floor 3.

5 The same Heralds, a floor apart#

The Herald floor before the Riftbreaker in World Rift ★ (floor 5, coalition) and the first Herald floor in World Rift ★★ (floor 4, squads) draw from the same six Heralds: The Ferryman, Cloverion, Vioz, the Endless Waiter, Sturmtruppen, T.R.O.J and mAlwAre. In World Rift ★ all eight players fight them together. In World Rift ★★ each squad of four fights its own.

6 Who stands with the Riftbreaker#

The Mymics beside a Riftbreaker on the final floor are mostly Heralds, not bosses:

Spearmen, Rosy and the Decayed Dynamos beside Red Kaos are ordinary Mymics. Spectre, beside Crypsatia, is a Herald.

7 Familiar faces and surprises#

  • The early floors use Mymics from raids. Woj, a 2★ Boss in the game's list that has never turned up in a raid, is one of the floor 2 encounters in World Rift ★★.
  • Raid traits come along. Frogi, Mud, Lotzie and Luna on World Rift ★★ floor 3 still bring their Vengeful forms, and Mosscaller Frazzle still summons Frazzles and a Mossball Leader. See Vengeful bosses.
  • Burnout Tapioca on World Rift ★★ floor 5 is followed by True Tapioca, a Herald of its own.
  • A party of fewer than eight has fewer duos, so it meets fewer floor 1 and 2 encounters.

8 Equipment by Mymic#

The game's Atlas lists these drops for World Rift Mymics:

The Emperor's Staff isn't on the Atlas yet. No World Rift equipment had been seen in anyone's rewards by the end of the first weekend, and drop chances for these items haven't been published. See Item fine print for their tiers and requirements, which the game reworked on October 30, 2026.

9 Star numbers#

The game files World Rift ★ runs under 11 stars and World Rift ★★ runs under 12. These aren't raid levels. A Heavenly Sultan or an Iris met on an early World Rift floor isn't an 11★ raid. See Raid levels.

10 Lobbies#

An open lobby shows its tier, the seats filled out of eight and a countdown. A lobby that doesn't start before its countdown runs out closes.

11 Not known#

  • Whether the one free entry each weekend is one per tier or one in all.
  • How many full clears a day pay the most, and when that day resets.
  • How a Spoils vote is decided when the team splits. The Gambit's rule, majority wins and a tie goes to Skip, is the only one the game has stated.
  • Drop chances for World Rift equipment.
