Exhaust and unexhaust

From the Polandball Go Wiki

In a raid, each ball gets one attack. After it attacks it is exhausted and sits out the rest of the raid. Bringing a ball back so it can attack again is called unexhausting. Many bosses fight back with traits that exhaust balls before they have attacked at all.

1 The basic rule#

Each raider brings their top 30 balls and can field up to five on a floor. A ball that attacks is exhausted. A ball you didn't use on a floor is still ready for the next one. Over a six-floor raid, your 30 balls give you 30 attacks unless something gives some of them back.

The specials work differently. Each raider gets three Multis and Ults in total for the whole raid, on top of their balls' normal attacks.

Item effects, unexhaust included, work only in raids. In PvP and alliance wars an item counts only through its attack and defense.

2 Items that unexhaust#

Most unexhaust items are limited to once per floor.

Polar Slushie's line used to read just "On hit: unexhaust a Polbie", and for about a day in October 2026 a ball holding it could attack over and over. See Polar Slushie bug.

3 Statuses that unexhaust#

Some items put a status on the Mymic that unexhausts your balls later, as it gets hit:

  • Light Seeker: "On hit by a Light attack: add 1 stack. When the 3rd stack would be added, drop stacks to 0 and unexhaust a random ball in the raid." Angelic Blade applies it.
  • Corruption: "On hit: Remove 1 stack. When dropped to 0 stacks, unexhaust 1 random ball." Blade of Corruption applies 10 stacks.
  • Heal: "On hit, consumes 1 stack to unexhaust the attacker." Elixir of the Grove applies it.
  • Double Heal: "On hit, do not exhaust the ball that is attacking, then additionally unexhaust 1 random ball. Remove 1 stack." Loveburst and Radiant Lotus apply it.
  • Matrix: "The next attack deals 10% damage but does not exhaust the attacker. On attack: Loses 1 stack." Digital Soul applies 5 stacks.

Some pairings have gone too far. Angelic Blade's Light Seeker fed by Divine Halo's extra hits once kept balls coming back almost without end. See Angelic Blade and Divine Halo exploit.

4 Mymics that give balls back#

A few Mymics carry these statuses themselves, which works in your favor:

  • Tutor Sharp has Heal, so every hit that uses a stack sends the attacker back into play.
  • Lord of Light, a 1★ boss, has Light Seeker. Light attacks on it unexhaust a ball every third stack.
  • Grand Tect has Double Heal, and Primal Almaz and Primal Siraj have Corruption.
  • Ultras has Traitor: "After 2 direct hits: unexhausts a random ball."

Some bosses give a ball back as part of a bigger trick. The Shrimp's Culling unexhausts a ball for every 4 Shimpi defeated, and Vertexia's Eye of the Storm does it when a Multi resets Visceral Slash from its last stack.

5 Mymics that exhaust your balls#

Many Mymics take your balls away before they have attacked:

  • Novoxia (1★) has Divine Retribution: "When hit 4 times, randomly Exhausts a Ball."
  • Desert Fox has Retaliate: "When the same ally gets targeted twice in a row, randomly Exhausts 1 ball."
  • Frogi (3★) has Judgment: "After damage calculation, attacks from Balls with CP above 8000 add a stack. At 5 stacks, exhaust all remaining Balls in the party." Vengeful Frogi lowers that to CP above 7500 and 3 stacks.
  • Vertexia has Visceral Slash: "Every attack that isn't a Multi: Loses 1 stack. When the last stack is lost, exhausts 3 random Polbies and resets. A Multi attack resets it."
  • Xterial has Headshot: "Gains 1 stack per attack in a row by a Polbie with equipment Resonance. At 3 stacks, exhausts the strongest remaining Polbie. Any other attack resets it."
  • Kivalaian has Rift, which exhausts a random ball whenever it blocks a Super Effective hit, and Event Horizon, which exhausts a random ball each time one of your balls attacks Kivalaian while the stacks last (Mymics don't attack).
  • The Shrimp and Shimpi have Shredded: "When hit by a Nature Polbie: Exhausts a random Polbie."

6 Exhausting your own balls#

Two items spend your own balls on purpose. Cannon Fodder reads "On attack: Exhaust a random Polbie of yours to deal 2x damage". Shrimp's SwordStaff goes all in: "On attack: Exhausts all of your other Polbies and adds their CP and equipment attack to this attack's base damage".

7 On polbielytics#

Each Mymic's page lists its traits in full, so you can check for exhaust traits before a raid. See Raids.
