PvP tiers and ladder points
From the Polandball Go Wiki
The PvP ladder has seven tiers, each split into four divisions. Winning attacks earns ladder points, and once a week the ladder settles and moves players up and down between tiers. The Open League and the Rarity League each run their own ladder. See PvP leagues for the two leagues and their weekly clock.
1 The seven tiers#
From the bottom up, the tiers are:
- Bronze, tier 1
- Silver, tier 2
- Gold, tier 3
- Diamond, tier 4
- Crystal, tier 5
- Aurora, tier 6
- Ethereal, tier 7
Each tier has its own badge in game. The ladder is very bottom-heavy: most players are in the lower tiers, and Ethereal holds only a small group at the top.
2 Divisions#
Each tier has four divisions, numbered from IV at the bottom to I at the top. The game shows your standing as tier, division and place, such as "Ethereal · Div II · #8".
At the weekly settle, the top division of each tier moves up and the bottom division moves down:
- Players in division I are promoted to the next tier up.
- Players in division IV are demoted to the tier below.
- Divisions II and III stay in their tier.
To move up a tier, you need to be in division I when the week settles.
3 Ladder points#
Ladder points come from winning your own attacks.
- A loss pays nothing. Losing an attack doesn't take points away; it just doesn't add any.
- A win pays more against a stronger opponent. The game weighs the points gap between you and the defender. Beating someone with more points than you pays more, and beating someone with fewer pays less. Wins seen so far have paid between 50 and 250 points.
- Streaks add a bonus. Wins in a row raise a multiplier, shown in game as something like "x1.15, 4 in a row".
The ladder pairs you with opponents in your own tier, so the gap that matters is the points gap within it.
Defending works differently. When someone beats your defense team, your points barely move.
4 Beating the same player again#
There is no penalty of its own for attacking the same player again. At the same points gap, a second win over the same defender pays the same as the first or a little more. Repeat wins tend to pay less only because each win moves you further above that player.
5 Rank history#
The game keeps your rank for each settled week and your career best, separately for each league. A good week in the Rarity League shows up in your Rarity history and leaves your Open history untouched.
6 Glory#
PvP wins also pay Glory, the PvP currency, and the game adds a placement bonus at what it calls the Monday rollover. Glory is spent in the Glory Shop on Prestige Fragments, orbs, passes and Influence. See Currencies and shops.
